Monday Project Evenings - 8 weeks From 5/1
Note the 8 sessions run Mondays from 5th January to 23rd February.
Do you find yourself with an ever increasing pile of projects you have started but just got stuck on? Do you find it hard to carve time or space out for yourself to regularly sit down with your machine and crack on with the things you would love to make? If any of this sounds like you, then the project sessions are perfect.
These are unstructured classes designed to be a time when you can make the use of the studio, get settled with your project and have me on hand for any queries or technical help as you work. You can bring your own machine and will get a table to yourself to work away. All the additional tools and equipment the studio has to offer will be available during the sessions, and I will have a selection of threads and basic haberdashery if you happen to have forgotten anything. More specialist items (such as zips, fastenings etc) and a small range of basic fabrics and interfacing will be available to purchase in the sessions as well.
The sessions will run from 6-8.30pm, but you can join and leave the session when you like. So even if one week you can only manage an hour – no problem.
This session will run for 8 weeks. This will give you a really great chance to get stuck in on a project and made some good progress. Is 8 weeks not enough? You can also book onto the 4 week block starting 9th March here.
My little dog Trevor is likely to be at some of the sessions. She is incredibly friendly and once she has made a fuss of you all tends to retreat to her bed and sleep under a table.
Who is this for?
You should have at minimum a basic working knowledge of threading up and operating a sewing machine. These are designed to be supported, self directed sessions, rather than full tutored workshops, and setting up the machine and basic operations from scratch won’t be covered. If you are not sure if the sessions might be right for you, please feel free to get in touch directly at rachel@hackleydesignstudio.com with any questions. If you are just starting out and don’t know what to work on I will have a range of free beginner patterns and project ideas for you to work on, so don’t worry if you are not sure where to start.
What is provided?
