Get to Grip with Zips - 3/10
Saturday 3rd October
10-4.30pm
Ideal for those looking to develop their dressmaking techniques - this workshop will help you get to grip with zips.
We will spend the day getting to grips with a concealed zip insertion and fly front zip for trousers. We will also cover a great way to attach your waistband so once you have nailed the zip fly, you can confidently finish your next garment to a really high standard.
We will work with samples and a calico mock up of the front of a pair of trousers. You will also receive detailed worksheets for reference. All materials, zips and use of required tools included. You will need to have a regular and concealed zip foot for your machine.
What will we cover?
Fly zip for trousers - including insertion, topstitching and finishing
Concealed zip - troubleshooting, tips and effectiveinsertion techniques
What is included?
Instructional worksheets for reference on all techniques covered
Fabric for all samples and zips
Use of all equipment and tools required in the studio
Use of a studio sewing machine if required
10% off anything purchased in class – patterns, haberdashery, fabric etc

If bringing your own machine you will need to bring your zip foot and ideally a concealed zip foot. I will be contact in advance of class with details of zip feet options.
