Hand-Stitched Festive Decorations - 6/12
Join me on Saturday, 6th December from 1.00-4.30pm to switch off and create some gorgeous hand-stitched decorations.
Using simple hand-stitched construction techniques and embellishment you will create some stunning, one-of-a-kind decorations and festive keepsakes.
I will walk you through some key construction and embroidery techniques and then you will be able to start to get creative. I will have a range of examples and designs for inspiration and reference but you are very welcome to create your own unique design.
You will have enough materials to make three decorations. If you end up working on a particularly detailed design and don’t get all three finished on the day - don’t worry!! You will also receive a worksheet to take home with all the details and techniques you need. This means you can take the afternoon at your own pace and will leave with everything you need to finish your project and even make more from your own fabric stash.
All materials including fabric for baubles, threads for embellishments and zero-waste stuffing* will be provided but you are more than welcome to bring anything you would like to incorporate into your pieces. You will get to go a bit wild and will have a huge selection of materials and fabrics to choose from including some cashmere offcuts from Johnstons of Elgin, linens, cottons, glass beads, a rainbow of embroidery thread colours, ribbons and more.
*We will be making use of my scraps and offcuts generated through my own sewing and other classes to use as zero-waste stuffing if you want to make a plush bauble-style decoration, or even a quilted one.
What is included?
Materials to make three decorations
Instruction booklet
Embroidery threads
Stuffing
Ribbon
Use of all required tools
Tea, coffee, herbal teas, cow and oat milk
Sweet treats
