Beginners' Sewing - Learn how to use a machine and make a tote bag - 11/10
If you have always wanted to learn to use a sewing machine, or have started but would like some guidance to build your confidence, then this is the perfect class for you. We will start from scratch and begin with how to set up the sewing machine, threading, winding a bobbin and getting comfortable with a range of stitches. As we then work through making the tote, you will be introduced to some key techniques, whilst gaining confidence and understanding to take forward into future projects.
You will receive full written instructions, complete with diagrams for the tote bag and additional handouts with top tips. The class runs 10-4pm. Tea, coffee, herbal tea and water will be provided together with some sweet treats, but you do need to bring your own lunch. We shall have 45 minutes for lunch. There are a few small shops around the corner from the studio, and JG Ross Bakery, but we aren’t in the city centre so you don’t have a huge choice. Marks and Spencers and everything else at Union Square is about a ten/ fifteen minute walk away.
